Adult Snow Day!

So it’s the middle of a blizzard in good old Ballston Lake, NY and I have been M.I.A from my blog for some days now. If you’re wondering where I’ve been, I have been eating like garbage, celebrating my birthday (and my boyfriends), spending time with the fam and drinking (a lot) with my friends. It was a great weekend, but not so great for my body. It took about 1.5 days for me to recover from my hangover and my body hates me. It was defiantly a “I am never drinking again” kind of night. So, here we are. I have the day off from work and its back to action. I have been discussing with a friend the best way to schedule workouts when working full time and have come to the conclusion that I am going to try working out in the A.M. before work. But since there is no work today (YAY), I did an at home workout. I completed a kickboxing exercise video and a power yoga flow exercise video. They were both really great and I am so glad I did them to get myself out of the post hangover funk. I have a hard time finding youtube exercise videos that I like that are entertaining, exciting and fun. These ones were from Self: Burn 100 and I defiantly saved them to my favorites for future reference. I also plan of doing some shoveling this afternoon for additional calorie burning!

Hump Daaaay

So I didn’t take a picture of my breakfast or lunch because they were basically the same as yesterday. -___- My body is starting to have chocolate withdrawals and there are cookies in the office and it’s been a struggle but I HAVEN’T HAD ONE. So yay, go me. I’m thinking about going to the gym tonight, but by the time I get home from work I am so tired, AND THIS IS THE PROBLEM. I get out of work at 5:00 but it takes me an hour to get home, then I would have to change and go to the gym so it’s a process and by the time I get home I just want to sit on the couch. This is when I start negotiating with myself. “Well, if I don’t eat bad today then I can skip the gym.” Ugh. I do have a plan though- once the weather gets nice and I am going to bring my sneakers to work and walk during my lunch break because I get A WHOLE HOUR and I don’t know what else to do for an hour. So that is helpful for the days I don’t make it to the gym.

At least it’s Wednesday, which means it’s almost Thursday, which means it’s almost Friday. so YAYYYYYY.

Hot Baptiste Beats

So I went to hot baptiste yoga class tonight and it was AMAZING as usual. This is probably my 4th baptiste class and it’s defiantly next level hard. I don’t usually go to these classes but I like to go after I’ve slacked off for a while to kick my butt back into gear. I also forgot to post a pic of my dinner. Fail. But I had chicken, zuchinni and a sweet potatoe. Held the ranch for a change which is very rare. I also had half a tablespoon of peanut butter before bed instead of my usual piece of chocolate. Day 1 was a success. Let’s hope I can keep this up! Oh yah, here’s a pic from my yoga cats calender. 

Lunch. 3.7.17

So this is my lunch/ snacks for the day at work. I feel like posting everything I eat is annoying but also helpful to monitor what I’m eating! So I just started a new job last week and I spend much more time sitting than I used to, so I’m trying to incoproate ways to get up and move throughout the day so my back doesn’t hurt! And so I don’t want to pull my hair out….

Something new.

So, this is my first blog post on my new page here! My name is Melissa and I am a 25 year old mental health counselor and yogi. Don’t let the titles fool you though. I am not that super fit and flexible yoga babe on your instragram page. I love pizza, ice cream and wine and finding any excuse to avoid the gym. Now that I am 25 (as of yesterday), I am looking to make the next 25 years of my life the greatest ever. I really want to start feeling great physically and mentally and I am hoping that this blog page helps increase my motivation! So, I know I am not fat. People get mad at me if I say that. I know I’m not, but I have gained some weight over the last few years and I am not feeling so hot lately. I’m about 5’6 and weigh around 145-150. I have a medium sized frame and a large chest and wide hips. I don’t hate my figure, I would just like to tone up and drop a few lbs. So I am excited to start this blog to discuss my fitness journey to healthier lifestyle! 🙂
